During the 87th Texas Legislature, SB 1230 established the Texas Commission on Community College Finance. The new proposed model moves away from a funding model that is static and merely redivides the same pie, to one that is dynamic and provides colleges with predictable funding based on their own successes.
Del Mar College leadership was instrumental to the commission’s work with Board Chair Carol Scott and President/CEO Dr. Mark Escamilla both serving on the 12 member commission. They will provide our club with an overview of the Commissions work as well as an update on current events at the college.
