Community Service

SERVE

Our local community

The Rotary Club of Corpus Christi provides ongoing support to our community through various program focused on the protecting our environment, helping those in need, and honoring those who serve both abroad and locally.

Protecting our environment

A thriving community on Texas’ Coastal Bend, our members take a vested interest in our local beaches, marine, and wildlife. Every year the Rotary Club of Corpus Christi hosts the Harvey Weil Sportsman Conservationist Award dinner.  Harvey Weil was a past Club President, passionate conservationist, and skilled angler and hunter.  Funds raised at the dinner provide grants to support research and education in the conservation of natural resources.

Helping those in need

We believe it is important to make a positive difference our community. Monthly we partner with other organizations and help those less fortunate than ourselves.  From packing holiday meal boxes at the Coastal Bend Food Bank, to ringing bells for The Salvation Army, to building a trike trail at the Ronald McDonald House Charities – Corpus Christi, we provide a variety of opportunities for community service.

Honoring those who serve

Remembering those who serve and who have served in the military, Rotarians annually salute our veterans with a patriotic Veterans Day program aboard the USS Lexington Museum on the Bay including a commemorative ceremony releasing a wreath into Corpus Christi Bay.

Our Flags for Heroes program honors all types of heroes. Whether they are first responders, veterans, or simply a grandparent, this event for the entire community sets out hundreds of flags along bayfront parks honoring our heroes.

Rotary Club of Corpus Christi
Our Rotary Club of Corpus Christi members rolled up their sleeves for a meaningful roundtable discussion centered on this year's theme, Love Does. Together, we reflected on what makes our club special, explored ways to strengthen member connections, and identified practical steps we can take to make an even greater impact. Some of the biggest takeaways from the conversation included:💙 Building stronger connections by personally reaching out to new, returning, and non-attending members.🤝 Preserving the traditions that define our club while embracing new ideas for growth and engagement.⭐ Turning ideas into action with simple, achievable goals over the next 30 days.❤️ Remembering that the heart of Rotary is people—serving together, welcoming others, and creating a place where everyone belongs. The conversations don't end here—they're just the beginning. Together, we'll continue putting Love Does into action as we strengthen our club and our community. We also had the privilege of recognizing Chris Horn as our 2025–2026 New Member of the Year! Congratulations, Chris, and thank you for the enthusiasm, leadership, and servant heart you have brought to our club. We are grateful to have you as part of the Rotary family. We wished our Youth Exchange Student, Michaela Vidolva, a fond farewell as Marissa Ford presented her with parting gifts.
