Carolyn Ross, Disaster Program Manager for the Coastal Bend-Texas Chapter of the American Red Cross will be here to share opportunities for corporate and agency partnerships.  Highlighted activities for engagement include Ready When the Time Comes (RWTC) and Ready Rating.  RWTC allows organizations to give back to the community by empowering employees to act as disaster relief volunteers during disasters as well as supporting the Red Cross mission through a diverse array of programs and services.  Ready Rating is a self-paced, membership program designed to help businesses, organizations and schools become better prepared for emergencies. All in one place, Ready Rating members have access to one-of-a-kind tools, resources and information for evaluating and improving their ability to withstand disaster, maintain operations, and protect lives and property.  All disaster or preparedness programs are at no cost to the partner agency including any requested training.

While our Thursday meeting may not find its way into the history books, it serves as a reminder of what truly merits being recorded in history. Days like D-Day are worthy of remembrance and, more importantly, learning from. We are immensely grateful to our speaker, Dwayne Lee, for his inspiring presentation, “All Gave Some... Some Gave All.” His overview of the American Cemetery in Normandy, France, was not only informative but deeply moving. It was a presentation of great significance, reminding us of the sacrifices that shaped our world. A special thank you to our District Governor Zehra Surani for recognizing our club members who have generously shared their time and talents with Rotary. We also joyfully celebrate those cherished individuals who have been part of the Rotary family for over a decade, making a lasting impact with their enduring commitment. ... See MoreSee Less

We had a fantastic meeting on Thursday with Nueces County Judge Connie Scott. She provided us with an update on the sources of funding for the Nueces County General Fund Budget and explained how those funds are utilized. Additionally, she shared insights on the current projects underway in the county. Connie's presentation was both enlightening and engaging, leaving us with a clearer understanding of the financial landscape and how it supports the community's development. We left the meeting not only with knowledge but also with a renewed sense of optimism about the future projects that promise to enhance the quality of life in Nueces County. Thank you to all the Rotarians who attended and engaged with questions! ... See MoreSee Less
