Raymond Douglas Chong, City Traffic Engineer with the City of Corpus Christi, will muse on “Paradoxical China– Challenges or Opportunities” during Thursday’s meeting.  From his incisive vantage, as a “bamboo” (American Born Chinese),  Raymond will share his insights about the paradox of China.  Since August 1990, he has glimpsed the dynamic ascent of China to an international vanguard with its influential impacts.  He will articulate on the reality of China as a nation in constant change highlighting the society, economy and state of affairs .  As a 5th generation American, Raymond will demystify the mystique of China.

Our Thursday meeting was a tremendous success. We welcomed speaker Lisa Gerdes, who shared insights about her inspiring organization, Rising Tides Ministries. They offer several programs aimed at helping people, including the Safe at Home Program, which assists elderly individuals with various repairs to create safer living conditions, and the A Way Home Program, which helps reunite homeless individuals with their families.
