Last December at the opening of the Paris Climate Summit, President Obama stated, “I’ve come here personally as the leader of the world’s largest economy and the second largest emitter of greenhouse gases to say that the United States not only recognizes its role in creating this problem, we embrace our responsibility to do something about it.”
