December 4, 2014 Meeting

Ortiz, RickDo you like to watch CSI?  You’re in for an interesting   discovery on Thursday!  Ric Ortiz, the county’s Chief Forensic Investigator  will be our program speaker.  He works to ensure that tombstones have names and to return remains to loved ones.

Ortiz has had his hand in about half of the 55,000+ deaths investigated by his office since being opened in 1970.  Last year  Ortiz and his team of eight investigators tallied 2,519 suspicious deaths.  People belong to somebody who cares, and Ric cares about finding them.

“The science often isn’t as exact as we see on television or the movies,” Ortiz said.  You won’t want to miss this exciting program.
