April 25, 2019 meeting

Moda Midstream, LLC

Our program on Thursday will be on Moda Midstream’s operation in Ingleside, located at the former Naval Station Ingleside. Moda Midstream, LLC is a liquids terminaling and logistics company that provides independent terminal, storage and distribution solutions to refiners, petrochemical manufacturers, marketers and producers of crude oil, condensate, NGLs, refined products and other bulk liquid. Moda Ingleside Energy Center is a $300 million to $500 million investment designed to accommodate Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCC) and military ships.

Did you know that VLCCs are about 1,100 feet long—roughly the length of three football fields– and 200 feet wide? The vessels can carry up to 2 million barrels of crude oil.

We had a fantastic meeting on Thursday with Nueces County Judge Connie Scott. She provided us with an update on the sources of funding for the Nueces County General Fund Budget and explained how those funds are utilized. Additionally, she shared insights on the current projects underway in the county. Connie's presentation was both enlightening and engaging, leaving us with a clearer understanding of the financial landscape and how it supports the community's development. We left the meeting not only with knowledge but also with a renewed sense of optimism about the future projects that promise to enhance the quality of life in Nueces County. Thank you to all the Rotarians who attended and engaged with questions! ... See MoreSee Less
