CHANGE

The world today

The Rotary Club of Corpus Christi works with partners around the globe to make our world a better place for everyone.

Providing clean water and sanitation

Clean water and sanitation can be taken for granted in the Coastal Bend. However, that is not the case in many parts of the world.  The Rotary Club of Corpus Christi has completed several clean water and sanitation projects, including:  water wells,  hygiene education, proper hygienic latrines for girls attending school, and water governance programs to make lasting changes in the those communities.

Eradicating polio

Rotary International’s signature program, Polio Plus, was established in 1985 and has since been dedicated to eradicating polio around the world. More than one million Rotarians volunteer their time and personal resources to protect more than 2.5 billion children in 122 countries from polio.  But we are not done yet.  With only two endemic countries remaining, the effort continues, supported by donations from members of the Rotary Club of Corpus Christi, Rotarians all around the globe and a two-for-one match by the Gates Foundation.

Connecting globally

One of the many benefits of being a Rotarian, is that wherever you go in the world, you can find Rotarians in the 34,000 clubs around the world, who will welcome you with open arms. Rotarians all around the world are leaders who believe in high ethical standards.  This also provides for great global business opportunities.

Current international project

In partnership with funding from The Rotary Foundation, the Rotary Club of Corpus Christi, the Bahia Blanca Rotary Club in Argentina, equipment will be purchased which allows the early detection and hearing diagnosis from newborns to adults.  Early detection and diagnosis make it possible to reduce the impact of hearing impairment.
