The work of the Harvey Weil Sportsman Conservationist Award fund not only continues to perpetuate the legacy of Harvey Weil, but also grants resources to those organizations whose missions parallel that of the Award, to preserve our natural resources and educate the public about conservation issues. Each year the earnings from the Award fund are distributed to organizations whose goals are the conservation of marine and wildlife resources. A committee of Rotarians and nationally known conservationists select as recipients those entities or projects which the committee determines will promote conservation in either or both of these important fields.
Timeline:
- Grant applications are due annually in October (see grant application, when available, for specific deadline).
- Recipients will be notified in January.
- Checks are presented each year at the Harvey Weil Sportsman Conservationist Award Dinner the following spring.
Note:
- Preference is given to grants that affect the Coastal Bend region, but all worthy projects will be considered.
- Grant funds may not be used for F/A costs.
- An individual is allowed to apply for more than one grant at a time.
