The following is a message from our program speaker on Thursday, Dr. Cifuentes:
“Texas A&M University Corpus Christi aspires to be an Emerging Research University. I will describe what is required to be an emerging research university in Texas and place those requirements in the national context. In turn, I will discuss the value strong research programs bring to a university and the region it impacts. The major obstacles to reaching the Emerging Research University goal will be outlined. Finally, I will argue that a strong university-community partnership is required to overcome these obstacles.”
