April 20, 2017 meeting

Moretzsohn, Heather

The US Immigration Laws are constantly changing.  From the birth of our country in 1776 to the inauguration of our latest president on January 20, 2017, our nation has seen numerous adaptations of the US Immigration laws which directly reflect the socio, economic, and political situations of the time.  This presentation will provide a historical background starting with the Constitutional Convention in 1787, up to the present day.  The presentation will then include a discussion of the current US Immigration Laws from the point of view of a legal practitioner.

The purpose of the presentation is to provide an overview of the US Immigration laws so that all listeners can better understand why current immigration policies are being made by the various branches of our government.

Join us Thursday for our fellow Rotarian Heather Moretzsohn’s  presentation.
