Adopt-A-School

AdoptASchoolChildren are our future – and Rotarians can help guide not only their own children, but those in need of guidance in the community. The Rotary Club of Corpus Christi has partnered with Corpus Christi Independent School Districts’ – Driscoll Middle School to encourage the students to dream and to develop the tools needed to pursue their dreams. Club members share the experiences during the Spring semester as part of our speaker program. The objective of the speaker program is to help steer students toward their career choices and what share with them what is needed to pursue their professions. Sometimes just by hearing a personal testimony, children can be inspired reach for greatness. And sometimes they learn that greatness is actually possible for them to achieve.

The Club and members in the community have contributed to the school to provide equipment and resources to help the teachers enhance the students’ learning capabilities. We are proud of the Rotary Reading Room, a place on campus for students to go read and learn in a comfortable environment.
Once every grading period two top students from each grade level and one employee are recognized at our luncheon. A special Thank You to Ovations for donating the students’ and teachers’ meals at our luncheons this year!
